"THE ZENO PROJECT"
CLASSROOM MUSIC INSTRUCTION
"The Zeno Project" is a Christian based, Music-Program Class Instruction.v

The Classes are instructed by
Music Director, Ms. Lulu.
The class is comprised of no more than 20 students per class. Students will be introduced to many instruments and the children will be taught the keyboard or ukelele. Students will enjoy learning Music in this classroom setting.
The Children learn Music History, Theory and Singing. Students learn to recognize and read notes. The eye and hand coordination along with finger dexterity that is developed by these lessons, has a direct benefit to the students' reading and writing skills. Within the curriculum, the Children will also be introduced to Christian Music as part of the lesson plan. Upon learning this Music, Children will be able to recognize some of theses pieces as they hear them at Church.
Music Lessons are a fun time for Children. In addition to bringing joy into children's lives, many studies have concluded a relationship between piano lessons and later school achievement. These studies have demonstrated that Students who have taken music lessons at a young age, later experience enhanced math and science test scores. (These scores don't show a tendency to diminish over time).

The Students will also learn to play by hearing and duplicating tones, rhythms and patterns. This auditory memory training helps in the development of memory retention, not just in relation to music, but in other areas as well.

My sincere desire is for children to have the opportunity to learn all about Music and especially to have the opportunity to plant a seed that was planted in my heart as a Child. If Children are given the opportunity to learn and become familiar with Christian Music, hopefully, they will be the future Musicians, Choir Members, Cantors and Music Directors of our Christian Faith.

The Zeno Project is inspired by St. Zeno (300 - 371) an early Christian Bishop of Verona and a Martyr. He was an able speaker and defended Christianity with his life. At Verona, a basilica is dedicated in his Honor and about 30 churches and chapels bear his name. In the basilica, the Choir has a statue, bearing the episcopal insignia.
(In Lig, a region of Slovenia, the Parish Church is also dedicated to St. Zeno).
Besides his many attributes, he taught many children of Africa about God. He was dedicated and helped them with their school work, especially for these times, St. Zeno, was somebody the children could rely on for their education.
NOTE: The Zeno Project Concept began in Spring of 2010 at Abundant Living Christian Church with Guitars.
